Built for care, not control
A monitoring tool is only ethical if the person being monitored knows. Safentora makes that a technical property of the product, not a promise in fine print.
Safentora is designed for
- Parents and legal guardians looking after children in their care
- Families who want the monitoring conversation in the open
- Co-parenting households — partners join by invitation, with their own account
- Guardians who want facts (location, screen time) instead of surveillance (messages, screens)
Safentora is never for
- Monitoring a partner, spouse, or any other adult
- Employee surveillance of any kind
- Stalking, harassment, or tracking anyone without their knowledge
- Any use where the monitored person doesn't know Safentora is installed
Covert tracking of an adult is illegal in many jurisdictions, and using Safentora for any of the above violates our Terms of Service and results in account termination.
Not just policy — architecture
How the product itself enforces this
These aren't guidelines we hope people follow. They are properties of how Safentora is built.
Consent is a gate, not a checkbox
On the child's device, monitoring does not start until the consent screen — which lists exactly what will be shared — is accepted. The acceptance is recorded per policy version, and the gate reappears whenever the policy changes.
There is no stealth mode to enable
While location sharing runs, a persistent notification says “Sharing your location with your family.” A blocked app shows “This app has been blocked by your family administrator.” A locked device says it's locked and keeps Settings and emergency calls available. None of this can be hidden.
The monitored person keeps real power
The child can open Android Settings at any time and revoke Accessibility, Device admin, Usage access, or Location — we document how on the Permissions page. Declining consent stops monitoring and signs the device out.
Verbatim from the child's device:
“This app has been blocked by your family administrator.”
Every enforcement action looks like this — labelled, visible, and attributable.
